Using Standard Reports

There are more than 130 standard reports available in Penelope. These can be used to report on your client demographics, funders, group classes, scheduling, staff productivity, program details, billing/accounts, documents, assessments and much more. Access to these reports is controlled by your Reports Security Class.

Accessing Reports

Depending on the report it will be accessible in one or more locations in Penelope. Reports are most commonly found in the “View All Reports” page in Penelope but they can also be found in the “My Reports” section of the Reports sidebar or directly on the record the report is connected to.

How to Print a Report

To print a report follow the instructions listed below:

  1. Click your agency’s logo located in the top left corner of the report.

  2. A print dialogue box will appear on the screen.

  3. Adjust settings as required.

  4. Click Print.

If you do not see your agency’s logo you can print the report by pressing CTRL and P (Windows users) or CMD and P (Apple users). More information can be found in our Standard Reports Guide.

Saving a Report as a PDF

It is not possible to save a report in a different format to which it displays (HTML) in Penelope.

If you have a PDF print driver installed on your computer it is possible to save the generated report as a PDF. To do this follow the instruction above for printing a report and select PDF as your printer.

Copying a Report in CSV format

While there isn't an official way to export standard reports in a CSV format, it is possible to copy & paste the report contents into a program such as Excel while maintaining the columns and rows the data is displayed in. To do so:

  • Run the report as you normally would using the applicable filters and parameters

  • Click and drag on the report to highlight the on screen data

  • Use the keyboard command Ctrl+C for Windows or Cmd+C for Mac to copy the text in CSV format

  • Paste the data into the reporting tool of your choosing using Ctrl+V or Cmd+v

From here, you can manipulate and export the data as needed. Please note that this has only been tested in MS Excel, and while you may have success in other reporting tools, we cannot advise on how best to use them.
