FAQ: How Do I Manage Dedication Donations From Engage?

A Dedication element on your Engage fundraising form allows your supporters to make a tribute donation— a donation in honor or memory of someone. The Dedication element contains the tribute's name. This dedication text field in Engage syncs to the Unresolved Dedications Queue in CRM. You would need to convert the dedication name to a constituent record if, for instance, you want to send a list of donations to an honoree or dedicated person with the Acknowledgment Wizard.

To handle dedications synced from Engage to Salsa CRM...

1. Convert that name into a constituent record in the CRM, using the Unresolved Dedication queue. This will also convert any donations with a resolved dedication so that the Acknowledgment Wizard recognizes the donations.
2. Your tribute constituent must be an honoree or else have a relationship link to a Caregiver or Acknowledgment Recipient who will act as the tribute's custodian and receive the letter. If you are unsure how to add a Relation, click here.
3. Continue with the Acknowledgment Wizard instructions to perform what is essentially a mail merge of your acknowledgment letter and the tribute custodian(s) or honoree.
