HMIS: HMIS TouchPoints

The following TouchPoints are typically used within HMIS:

• Project Descriptor Data Elements: This is a General TouchPoint used to gather the information that represents the Project within ETO. Each HUD program that exists within a site needs to have one response for the Project Descriptor Data Elements TouchPoint taken.

• Bed and Unit Inventory Information: This is a General TouchPoint used to gather the information related to the bed and units that are available at a shelter. If a program operates a shelter, then that program will need to have a response for the Bed and Unit Inventory Information TouchPoint taken. Please review the most current HMIS Data Standards for more information on the specifications for this TouchPoint.

• HUD Assessment: This is a Participant TouchPoint used to gather the information related to participants. Each participant who is enrolled in a HUD program will need to have a response for the HUD Assessment taken. Aside from the above TouchPoints, there are also the following specialized Participant TouchPoints:

• Coordinated Entry Event

• Coordinated Entry Assessment

• Aftercare Plans (RHY)

• Financial Assistance Provided (HOPWA or SSVF)

• Outreach and Services Contact

• Outreach and Services Engagement

• Referrals Provided (PATH)

• Services Provided (HOPWA, PATH, RHY, or SSVF)

• Veteran Information (SSVF)

Please contact support if your organization requires any additional HMIS TouchPoints to be enabled, or if a new HMIS program was made that needs these TouchPoints.
