FAQ: How Do I Query for Summary Letter Recipients?

This query example would return all donors who donated $250 or more in the previous year. At the end of the query, you will add them to a group for the Summary Wizard.

1. Create a Group to which you will assign query results.
2. Create a Constituent Type query.
3. Make sure you select Assign Constituents to Group/Smart Group for the Purpose of this Query. This automatically selects Constituent Number and Constituent UUID for your output fields.
   
   
4. Set your output fields such as...
   • First Name
   • Last or Org Name
   • [Donation Info] Total Gift Amounts
5. Add the following filters:
   • Filter on Total Gift Amounts greater than or equal to 250
     
   • Filter on [Donation Info] Received Date is during the previous 1 year (from midnight January 1st to 11:59:59 PM December 31st)
     
   • Make sure the AND operator is between them.
     
6. In Step 4, click the Global Update button.
7. Click the Assign to Group button.
8. Select the Group to which you want to assign query results.
9. Click OK. A new browser tab appears with the Details of [a] Long Running Process that adds the constituents to the group. You may close that tab to return to the Query Wizard.
